Sedgwick County COMCARE, a part of the Human Services division, is a community mental health center that helps people with mental health and substance abuse. The organization provides mental health emergency services on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week. It offers face-to-face crisis intervention services, including those facilitated by a mobile crisis unit. The organization s Transition Team works with specific situations where clients are in need of short-term crisis intervention and follow-up. It also offers crisis assessment program for seniors, Medicaid preassessment, preadmission assessment for state hospital, language line service, crisis attendant care and crisis case management. Its family and children community services helps children with serious emotional disturbances. The organization s outpatient services include individual and group therapies and community education and outreach. Sedgwick County COMCARE is located in Wichita, Kan.
