DETAILS
General Info
Le Yaca came into Williamsburg on the 5th of December, 1980.In 1984 it began to be written up in magazines and newspapers including an especially favorable review by Phyllis Richman of the Washington Post. Richmans syndicated column was published in 180 newspapers.Daniel Abid was the first Head Chef of Le Yaca in Williamsburg. Before coming to America, he worked and trained in such prestigious places as Le Pre Catelan and Lenotre in Paris; LAmandier and Roger Verger in Mougins; and to top it all off with Alain Ducasse. In 2001 Chef Daniel, whom Daniele had brought to Williamsburg from France, bought the restaurant. What YACA means: It is the contraction of Il ny a qua meaning LETS. You can add the verb of your choice. For us it was DO, therefore Yaca means: LETS DO IT
