The Goldenrod Historical Society was officially incorporated on October 17, 1984. It is a non-profit, tax-deductible organization, the goals of which are to collect and preserve the history and memorabilia of both Seminole and Orange County sections of the unincorporated community of Goldenrod. In 1999, Goldenrod Historical Society accepted the keys to the Fire Station from Orange County and took the lead in the development and renovation of the Station to be called the Goldenrod Station and Museum. The Goldenrod Station now houses the Goldenrod Area Chamber of Commerce and the Goldenrod Historical Society and Museum. The rest of the fire station has been converted into a kitchen, gallery and ballroom which are available for event rentals. The Museum allows visitors to stroll through our community’s history and see life as an early settler where cattle and citrus were the mainstays. Watch our area become the thriving community of Goldenrod through pictures and memorabilia. The museum also pays tribute to the building’s original use as a fire station and the early firemen who served our community. Admission to the Museum if free to the public. Donations are appreciated. _
