My family and I arrived at 7pm into LAX we had standing reservations with this car rental agency. When we got our baggage we called for their shuttle. They told us where to go get picked up. We waited 1/2 nothing. Called was asked to wait few more minutes. Another 1/2 hour still nothing. This went on for 2.5 hours. Mind you had we not had reservations for a mini-van and other agencys rates at last minute were through the roof... NEVER EVER AGAIN. This year I am using Budget and with a little planning out. We are paying fraction of what Advantage charges and when we step out side next year the shuttle will pick us up.

The only clear meaning of the name Advantage is Advantage Car Rental takes Advantage of their customers. Good luck and do not use this company. Not even if you have reservations. They do not have the time to take care of you nor do they care. We did not even get an I am sorry, nothing, no follow ups. We also almost did not get our vehicle. They had to pull one out of the shop because they rented ours. We also had to spend another 1 1/2 hours in their offsite building trying to get their vehicle and get on with our vacation. We finally left their facility at 1 am nearly 6 hours after getting off the plane and getting our luggage. No compensation. No hey we are sorry how can we make it better. DO NOT USE THEM. Unless you really do not have anything better to do. You will be sorry.

After having such a nice vacation, we arrived at LAX and encountered one of the most unpleasant experiences we have had in a very long time at the Advantage Rent-A-Car
Counter at LAX Airport. I might mention that we had to wait a good amount of time for the shuttle bus to even get to the car rental area. The cost of the car renal was $28.00 for one day. After waiting in a long line for approximately 35-45 minutes, we were called to the counter by the agent, Xavier. I just knew we were going to get a great deal on this rental car. Xavier our attendant was not polite at all. Xavier, the agent stated we need to have insurance proof with us, or we needed to have an outbound ticket showing our location. Asking us for an outbound ticket did not make a lot of sense, since we were arriving. Agent said I need insurance proof, and if you don’t have it, call your insurance so I can talk to them. Now this really put us in a bind as our reputable insurance company (Mercury) that we have had over 35 years, is closed on Sundays. It appears to us that the agent Xavier just wanted us to pay for their insurance. Agent also said we don’t rent to locals, and had not informed us of this policy when we were booking the car. She wanted to verify our insurance on a Sunday, and again, the Mercury Insurance office is closed on Sunday. Her objective was to make us to pay for Insurance, which in turn would increase the amount owed for the car rental.
What do I want? Please compensate me for my time and stress encountered during this expience. Thank you.

You'll pay more than most other car rentals at the end, although you think you got a great deal until then. They just throw extra charges and fees at you when you return the car. If you're ok with getting scammed this is the place for you.

DO NOT GO! we had to meet an extremely rude shift manager ''Samantha'', was very impolite with choosing words. General Manager was even worse. Period
